I would never have known about JFO! Barbara introduced me to Lassen's JFO camp in 2017 ... and I was "hooked." In 2018, I attended Lassen again and Barbara and I attended Autumn together. In 2019 I attended Autumn camp ... and it was there that I could finally mourn my dear friend Barbara's death (July 4, 2019).
I was blessed by learning so much from Barbara! She and I had the most amazing discussions of faith. And we could be so open and honest with each other. And we could disagree ... you have probably already heard about the time when Barbara was explaining the Divine Plan (as understood by Glenn Clark) to me ... and I rather bluntly said, "I don't believe that at all!" But she assured me that I could still be a valued member of the JFO family without totally agreeing with the Divine Plan :-)
I am so sorry that the pandemic is keeping us from meeting in person this year. I really miss the hugs and the sharing! But I am thankful for the opportunity for us to meet virtually. I will be holding each of you in my heart during our camp ... holding you in the light of love and peace and patience.
I listened to Barbara's first talk where she talked about meeting you Martha! That was fun to hear hear her perspective of your friendship! What a special blessing you were in each other's lives. It was nice to see you at camp ♥️
And I just heard Barbara's talk and was reminded what a gift from God you were when you came up and traduced yourself to Barbara at the concert, just when she needed you most!
Martha - I love seeing your beautiful smile and sensing your amazing spirit over the ethernet 😊 I look forward to the next couple days in fellowship. Here is a picture of Barbara and me in our prayer group (2019) picture from left to right - Kirsten, Laurien, me, Barbara, Rick and Dyer). I sure do miss her and yet I know she has been and is with us in our planning, discerning and now at camp.
