I love to collect spiritual quotes ... in fact I even have a 3x5 file of such quotes! The one I would like to share today is by Pope Francis:
"Rivers do not drink their own water;
Trees do not eat their own fruit;
The sun does not shine on itself and
Flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves.
Living for others is a rule of nature.
We are all born to help each other.
No matter how difficult it is ...
Life is good when you are happy;
But much better when others are happy because of you."
Please share some of your favorite spiritual quotes ... or comment upon others that have been shared.
From The Divine Plan by Glenn Clark:
I believe that God has a Divine Plan for me. . . I believe that this beautiful Divine Plan for me is a perfect part of the larger Pattern for the good of all, not something separate unto me alone. . .
I believe that God has selected those persons who are to belong to my plan, and that through proximity, mutual attraction or need, they and I are continually finding each other out. . . I believe in asking my Heavenly Father for only that which is mine to have, knowing that when the right time has come it will be made manifest. . .
I believe that the gifts of God are many thousands of times greater than I am now capable of receiving, and that I should therefore pray to increase my capacity both to receive and to give, for my power to receive is as great as my power to give, and my power to give as to receive. . . I believe that God's plan for life is healthy, happy expression for the good of all, and that everything that makes me feel happy to do will bring happiness to others. . .
I believe that the chief essential of life is to keep in touch with the Father, and let the Divinity that is in me manifest through me. . .
This is beautiful. Friends are God's gifts to us and through us.

Friendship
“Nothing among human things has such power to keep our gaze fixed ever more
intensely upon God than friendship.” —SIMONE WEIL
“I have been blessed to have deep friends in my time on Earth. They have been
an oasis when my life has turned a desert. They have been a cool river to plunge
in when my heart has been on fire. When I was ill, one toweled my head when I
couldn't stand without bleeding. Another bowed at my door saying, “I will be
whatever you need as long as you need it.” Still others have ensured my freedom,
and they missed me while I searched for bits of truth that only led me back to
them. I have slept in the high lonely wind waiting for God's word. And while it's
true— no one can live for you— singing from the peak isn't quite the same as
whispering in the center of a circle that has carried you ashore. Honest friends
are doorways to our souls, and loving friends are the grasses that soften the
world. It is no mistake that the German root of the word friendship means “place
of high safety.” This safety opens us to God. As Cicero said, “A friend is a
second self.” And as Saint Martin said, “My friends are the beings through whom
God loves me.”

Martha, I love what you have added to camp with these posts and of course seeing your bright and shining face on line in the live programs. I miss early morning coffee with you at Lassen and sitting by the lake at Autumn listening to what is new for you on your journey.

The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers. - Thich Nhat Han
Love's greatest gift is its ability to make everything it touches Sacred. —Rumi
A good deed doesn’t just evaporate and disappear. Its consequences saturate the universe and the goodness that happens somewhere, anywhere, helps in the transfiguration of the ugliness.

"Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do it will take you where you need to go, but more importantly it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey." John O'Donohue
